Dbh writers, can someone please, please write a Sixty fic based on this song where he’s dealing with the guilt of his past and there is literally a perfect person in his life that loves him but he can’t accept them because of his own self-hatred?I’m on the floor sobbing for this robot man.
I love how everyone on here and twitter are all “ I can fix him “ when they see Sixty’s mugshot ..and I’m over here like “ I want to ruin his life and teach him a lesson he’d never forget “

i really REALLY wish they gave us more moments like the book scene and the chess scene in dbh because markus is so interesting and we didn’t get to see much of him just being himself before he was thrust into being a revolutionary leader with no time to just be a person
Agreed. That’s why some people think Markus is boring. His story isn’t rly about him but about everyone else. He didn’t have time to discover his identity like Connor did. But he is very interesting and complex person and if you look closely you will see things. They’re just under the surface.
What pisses me off more, is that we don’t even have fanfics with deep Markus character study. He is soooo underappreciated and it’s not right.
It’s frustrating because the game could have easily fleshed out Markus with a few more lines of dialogue and simple tasks.
- Make him monologue more. Markus has three chapters where he spoke only one liners or none: Shades of Color, From the Dead and Jericho. That’s a horrible lines/chapter ratio especially compared to Connor and Kara. If anyone played The Witcher 3, Geralt could spent like 5 hours wandering and playing Gwent but he has offhand comments on stuff and it adds so much character.
- Give him a room in Jericho and allow the player to decorate it with paintings. Have the Jericrew visit and Markus can explain the meaning behind his art.
- Give extra dialogues to the Jericrew that is NOT about being oppressed androids. Gave the Jericrew some hobbies and have Markus comment on them. Make North like baking or something, Simon probably into romance novels, Josh fond of watching baseball etc. All it needs is like two or three more lines. It’s not hard to do.
- The problem with Jericho and everything in it is that its defined by suffering. Look at how we interacted with Rupert for like 5 minutes and yet we know he loves pigeons, doesn’t care about hygiene, fakes his driver’s license and generally a harmless deviant blending with humans.
- Markus suffered the most on the game’s treatment of social issues. They let the themes overpower Markus’ personal motivations. It’s still there but the audience have a harder time distinguishing.
All these solutions take like an additional 10-15 minutes and it could have done so much wonder. It’s really frustrating and I applaud all the fanfic writers who take time and develop Markus further.
